To obtain a visa for Italy in Manchester an interested person must visit the Italian Consulate in Piccadilly, Manchester. First an applicant must secure an appointment in advance by calling 09065540770. Applicants are advised to make an appointment much before the date they plan to depart owing to the vast number applications and comparatively smaller number of staff. Businessmen and spouses or dependents of Italian nationals and diplomats don't need an appointment but can directly lodge their applications.

The time taken to process the visa will depend on the nationality of the applicant. Generally this period varies from a couple of days to two weeks. Visas cost 23 pounds each and this amount is not refundable if the application is rejected.

No applications sent by mail are entertained it is compulsory that the applications are made in person. A special delivery envelope must be provided by the applicant so that the applicant's passport can be returned after the procedure is complete.
