Faraday main discovery was the law of electrolysis. Later on William Whewell gave the name cathode, anode etc. To the process of electrolysis which Faraday discovered. Faraday also discovered the metallic nanoparticles because he first reported them. He also discovered that the optical properties of gold colloids are dissimilar to other metals. This was related with the effects of quantum size and resulted in birth of nanoscience. Faraday discovered the two chlorides of carbon. His contributions in chemical substances discovery are also appreciable like he discovered benzene and some other chemical substances. Faraday also discovered the process of diamagnetism. Moreover, he also discovered electromagnetic induction and came up with a number of inventions.

Michael Faraday born in  September 22, 1791 and died August 25, 1867. He was English chemist and physicist. He contributed a lot in electromagnetism and electrochemistry. He established magnetic field concept in physics. His discoveries are electromagnetic induction, diamagnetism, and laws of electrolysis. He invented electric motor and his work enabled us to use  electricity viable for use in technology.
He invented an early form of the Bunsen burner and benzene. Due to his efforts terms like such as anode, cathode, electrode, and ion became popular.
