Discounting Managers, Which Player Has Won The Most English League Championships?

Discounting management the record number of championship wins to date, up to and including the two thousand and five, two thousand and six season, is eight.  

Three players have managed this feat, two former Liverpool legends and one current Manchester United player.  

Phil Neal won eight league championships in his Liverpool career, winning the title in nineteen seventy six, seventy seven and seventy nine.  Again in nineteen eighty, eighty two, eighty three, eighty four and eighty six.  

Alan Hansen the former Liverpool captain won the league championship with Liverpool in nineteen seventy nine, nineteen eighty, eighty two, eighty three, eighty four, eighty six, eighty eight and finally in nineteen ninety.  


Manchester United player Ryan Giggs has also won the league championship on eight occasions, in nineteen ninety three, ninety four, ninety six, ninety seven, ninety nine, two thousand, wo thousand and one and his last victory to date came in United's last Premier league sucess in two thousand and three.
