The usual way is to use the windows command to go to dos mode. You can use windows help by clicking help button on browser or on your desktop, and look for exit windows to dos or safe mode with command prompt, but first you must write down the complete directory address like: C:program filesprogram namedatavirus.ex. But be for-warned, windows parses directories and dos does not handle long file names well.you look at directories with the DIR  or the DIR/W command, you switch directories by the CD (name) command once you find the offending file, (if you can) use the DEL (file name) command if you make a syntax error, like CD FILE, dos may suggest correct use. Avoid the DEL TREE command (no space) it will delete everything including all files and sub-directories of the current directory including windows if you are not careful!
A much safer solution is to restore a previous date with system restore, or install a program like AVG 8.5 from free.avg.com or for win 98 or ME, rising anti-virus 8.5 from download.com either will get rid of almost any virus...wally
