According to National research Council, daily requirement of water in dogs is 30 ml per kilogram body weight. But these requirements can increase due to more physical activities. So, it is recommended that freshwater should be available in your dog's bowel every time.
But drinking too much water can be due to

    • Diabetes
    • Cushing's diseases
    • Hyperthyroidism
    • Pyometra
    • UTI
    • Kidney failure
    • Medicines like prednisone.
If your dog is drinking too much water without much physical activities then discuss above mentioned points with your local vets.
