What Is Sudan?

Sudan is a country situated in Northern Africa by that name. It is also often used to refer to Sudan the geographic region which is partly falls within Sudan, the country.

However there is also a city by the name of Sudan which is located in Texas; which had 1,039 people as per the 2000 census. It could also be used to refer to the former colony by the name of French Sudan, which is the present day Mali. It could refer to Sudan function or to the Romanian mathematician Gabriel Sudan. The term may also refer to a number of dyes such as Sudan I through Sudan IV as well as Sudan Black B.

The country by the name of Sudan or The Sudan is officially the Republic of Sudan or the Republic of the Sudan.
