Motrin is more along the line of Ibuprofin. You should consult your vet before giving your dog anything of this nature. Even a large dog can and has been known to die from a small dose of one of our OTC painkiller's and medication's since they are toxic to them. While they are prescribed by our veterinarian's occasionally under certain circumstances for our dog's, careful consideration is taken as to the problem, the dog (history, problem's, ect) and dosage. You would also need to be sure that something like this is effective for the problem and you need your vet for that as well, and then you discuss something like this as a treatment option  and if they agree, you follow the instruction's exactly and STILL monitor very closely.
