You should check that driver software is install or not.
Go to device manager and check the drivers status.
Right click on My computer > properties > device manager.
If any yellow marks (?) will show in sound or audio option in list that means there is no any sound driver software are install. You can install or update sound driver software.
If you sound driver is install properly, then you should update it and check all sound setting from control panel.
