ID cards in the form of the National ID Card in the UK are going to be introduced in the United Kingdom from 2009 onwards or sooner. These cards will contain information relating to a person's finger prints, particulars and photograph. It is believed that is a step towards making the society into a police state; that the cards will make it easier for the state to infringe on personal civil liberties and waste significant amount of money.
