I think that old axiom was just made up to make people feel good about themselves. You've got to be pretty durn smart to recognize a dumb or stupid question and label it as such. A smart person can ask a dumb question just like a not so smart person can ask a smart question, don't you think?

Yes , if you really need the information given by the answer then the question is not stupid to you. Although it may seem to be stupid to someone who already knows the information...

Some questions seem dumb to us (I.Q. 83 Dull normal) but some of us hit a mind drift and sound down right stupid. Lord knows I do it enough myself. Let's keep in mind though, what seems like a dumb question is from a person who is trying to gain knowledge. Ignorance is not the same as stupidity. I've know people who pursue stupidity with such a vengeance that it would boggle your mind and are so determined to stay that way that it's mind blowing.

That old axiom is not in my vocabulary.  NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION-no.  Because I am answering them and I am not stupid.  LOL.

The only stupid question, is one that is not asked.
