Can you tell me what made the stain?
Wine, blood, red dye transferred from another garment, etc. And have you tried to treat it with any type of a pretreatment because if so that may affect the ability to remove the stain and what you can use to remove it now.
Until you can reply to this my immediate advice is to begin soaking the shirt in cold water immediately to help the stain from becoming permanent.
