    London is home to some of the finest restaurants that serve authentic Indian cuisine in the UK; from Kashmiri and Punjabi cuisine to Bengali and South Indian cuisine you name it and its here. Some of the better restaurants that may be mentioned are Shikara located on 87 Sloane Avenue; the Malabar Junction located on 107 Great Russell Street is a good place for connoisseurs of traditional South Indian cuisine.

    For vegetarians Diwana at 121-123 Drummond Street is a treat as is Khan's Restaurant at 13-15 Westbourne Grove for tandoor lovers. Brick Lane in the East End of London is one of the famous spots for Indian cuisine and has a long tradition of being the best spot to savor Bengali cuisine. The Cinnamon Club in Westminster is another place that could be recommended for aficionados of Indian cuisine.

    Some of the dishes that are generally recommended with respect to Indian food and Punjabi cuisine in particular are Tandoori Chicken or Butter Chicken along with curries based on the house specialty and various breads like rotis and naans.
