    I Got Bitten By What I Believe Was Some Type Of Insect. Bite Area Itches And Now (a Day Later) Has Raised Dot Surrounded By Star-shaped Light Colored Slightly Raised Area,Should I Be Concerned?

    I'm in central Illinois. Woke up with a small bite...itched only a little (but not the same as mosquito bite). It is a day later and I have the above symptoms- small raised dot at the center surrounded by a 5-pointed star-shaped slightly raised area (no discoloration).

    All the skin disorder require examination of the lesion for the diagnosis. Because the symptoms which you are mentioning can be due to many reasons including insect or mosquito bite. The proper way is to visit a dermatologist for differential diagnosis. For all insect bites, if it is an insect bite, application of mild corticosteroids like hydrocortisone twice a day along with anti allergy tablets will work.

      Try taking some benadryl and put some neosporin on it so it don't get infected.
