I Am Looking For Information On The Surname Steffey/Stephan/Steffee And Other Different Spellings. It Is Both German And Swiss Origins. Any Idea?

I have started researching my family's ancestry and have found that the name Steffey has many different spellings and that that there are two different origins in the United States for two families. Two Ulrich Steffeys came to the U. S. A. At about the same time one from Germany and one from Switzerland. Any information out there?

It is of German Origin. Steffey is Americanized spelling of South German Steffi, from a pet
form of the personal name Steffen, a German vernacular form of
    Latin Stephanus.
