What Is Considered A Contract?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A contract is a transfer or swapping of pledges or an agreement amongst two or more parties, which is legally bound and imposable by law. Contract law is founded on the Latin phrase 'pacta sunt servanda' which literally means 'promises must be kept'. A breach of the contract can be identified by the law and appropriate solutions are supplied. Contracts between individuals and organisations take place nearly on a daily basis. At times, contracts are needed to be provided in a written form, for a variety of transactions such as the purchase of a house, acquisition of land etc. Nevertheless, a major chunk of all contracts can be and are implemented by oral means, like purchasing a law text book or in a restaurant. Contract law can be categorised as a component of a standard law of obligations.
