Are Fox Terriers Lively Dogs?

Fox terriers are very lively and active dogs. He is easy to train, very affectionate, and is always eager to please. He never tires of playing and is the ideal companion for a child. He is very clean in his habits, very intelligent and completely loyal. He has a very good sense of smell and very good vision. He has inexhaustible amounts of energy and love to chase and explore.

There are two types of fox terriers, the smooth fox terrier and the wire fox terrier. They have similar traits and personalities but differ in their looks (their coat of fur). They require grooming according to their type and as the wire fox setter has longer hair he needs a lot more grooming than his sleek smooth counterpart. They are not very good around small children and infants as they tend to snap very easily at the slightest provocation or irritation. They are naturally combative and aggressive and need to be trained and from a very early age.
