How Can I Get Rid Of A Tension Headache?
Answers
Prevention is better than cure; so finding the source or cause of the headache may help to prevent one in the future. If the problem is chronic, it may be easier to identify the trigger which sets off the headache. Maintaining a record will thus enable one to narrow down the factors still further.
Use a good posture when reading, working or being involved in activities that may cause a headache. Try some simple neck and shoulder exercises when seated in one position for too long. Stress management strategies are helpful. Meditation, changing ones sleeping position, changing ones pillow, avoiding cold environments (if triggered by a cold atmosphere), adequate rest and physical exercise etc., work well too. As for cures, over-the-counter drugs such as aspirin or even antidepressants for chronic headaches are effective. Some measures such as a good sleep, a hot or a cold shower, a massage etc seem to work for some people, and one can avoid medication in these ways.
Most airlines suggest useful neck exercises demonstrated by some beautiful necks during long haul flights.
