What Kind Of Snake Is Black With Yellow Stripes
A black with yellow marking or stripes snake was in my yard and I was wondering what kind it was and if it is good or bad.

If the stripes when along the body, from head to tail rather then around the body from the back to the stomach it was probably a common water snake, they are non poisonous but can biteI. When handled their bodies secret a very strong odor. Normally they will do no harm and stay away from humans and pets
