Zell is a mixed dog i got back in 2003 as a pup. He became an outside dog because any time you bring him in he always gets too excited and pee on everything. We feed him at least 2 times a day, give him scraps and have tried lots of different kinds of dog food. I worry that he isnt gaining weight and that could be bad for him.

A healthy dog should look slightly lean. Unless he is severely underweight i wouldn't worry about it. Its probable that its because hes so energetic he burns off all the calories in his food.

My brother is the exact same! He eats Way freaking high protein shakes but he cant gain weight. I'd say you can find a very high calorie dog food and have him (is it a him?) eat that.

the most high calorie dog food will be for working dogs, if you want to give that a try (it will probably be a dry complete food)
