This Question is Answered

In Oregon, What Are Laws Re; Pets In Mobile Home Parks -- Can Managers/owners Require Pets Be Spayed/neutered, On Leash, Limit Of One Or Two, Etc.?

Our Humane Society is going to high density areas with low-cost spay/neuter information and encouraging parks to become more responsible. One manager adamantly told us her hands were tied - she could not require spay/neuter, dogs on leash, a limit of two animals, etc. I always thought otherwise, and would like to know the law in Oregon regarding this situation. Thanks you.

Contact your local government office--there are city and state offices that will have the most up to date information.  Some cities are starting to enact pet laws requiring things like spay/neuter, microchip, and place limits on number of pets.  Also read your contract with the mobile home park thoroughly to see what the pet policy is and if they have the right to change it.  If you have concerns have your contract and state laws reviewed by a lawyer.

      Well dear!
It depends on the state, like in California in a mobile home park pets are not prohibited according to the law and fee can also not be charged unless special facilities are provided for the pets. However, in Oregon a pet can be kept that's legally reside there, however the landlord adds a no-pets clause to the rules.
