There are many books based on server connections it is recommended that you refer to these books to obtain a detailed and precise way of connecting a SQL server.

Microsoft SQL Server basically is a relational database management system created by Microsoft. Its basic languages are Transact-SQL, an implementation of the ANSI/ISO typical Structured Query Language applied by both Microsoft as well as Sybase. SQL servers are often applied in businesses ranging from small-to medium sized database, but over the period of years it has seen higher adoption of the product for bigger enterprise databases.

The code base for the Microsoft SQL Server was invented in Sybase SQL server, and was counted as Microsoft's entry into the venture level database advertise in competition to products like Oracle and IBM.
