Would A Staffy Crossed With A Labrador Be Good With Children?

Yes, both Staffordshire bull terriers (Staffies) and Labrador retrievers (Labs) are independently known to be extremely good with children, but if the crossbreed predominantly displays the characteristics of a Staffy, the child has to be careful not to be cruel towards it. By and large, it would not be the ideal choice to cross a Staffy with a Lab as they are completely the opposite of each other in temperament.

Labrador retrievers are mellower by nature and not excessively prone to unnecessary aggression, and they are friendly towards children of all ages. On the other hand, Staffies may tend to be aggressive at times, as they are typical terriers and cannot resist the temptation of a scrappy dog fight at times. A Staffy combined with another breed of terrier would not be the ideal pet in a household having children either, as children tend to be curious and naughty by nature and the presence of a terrier cross at home could prove detrimental to the child if it treats its aggressively. A Labrador crossbred with a breed of dog more suited to its temperament would be the ideal choice of pet for a household having very young children.
