No wait until they are able to at lest walk and has some hair on it. Plus they should stay with the mother so they could be fed and be used to the mothers sent not yours. So no.

Yes I always hold new borns as soon as they come out. I like them to get use to being held. After a couple of eeks I will let other people hold them so they can get use to different scents and people.
