Because you wish it had worked out.
Part of you wants to see him again.
You wish that he felt the same as you.
Probably you truly believed that he did, once.
But I presume he doesn't now.
You want to meet by accident like in a Hollywood film where you're meant to be together after all, and a chance meeting makes him realise that he still loves you (YEAH RIGHT!)
Sorry, excuse the cynic in me. Mourn for what you've lost if you need, but unless you know he feels the same, take the dream as an expression of your loss, what you wanted and wished for, not what fate is likely to bring to you.
