Cobwebs refer to the webs made by spiders. Cob is another name for spiders. Therefore it is also known as spider webs. It is a device which helps the spider to catch its prey. It is made out of a proteinaceous spider silk that extrude from its spinnerets. Not all type of spiders catches prey or builds webs. These webs are quite strong and some of the cobwebs are stronger than the strands of steel.
Cobwebs are generally found in the neglected corners that have not been cleaned for a while. They are found on ceilings and corners o walls as it is easy to weave a cobweb there than on a completely flat surface. If left untouched for several days rooms might get filled with cobwebs.
