      C.O.D stands for the 'Canadian Oxford Dictionary'. The dictionary was first published by the University Press of Oxford, Canada. The first edition of the Canadian Oxford Dictionary was released in the year 1998. The dictionary was a huge success, instantly it became the common dictionary that is now used in Canada for the reference of Canadian English. The main editor of Oxford is Katherine Barber, Oxford has maintained a permanent and dedicated staff of 'Lexicographers' available in Canada.

      The second edition of the Oxford Dictionary contains a total of 300,000 entries. This also includes a total of 2,200 entries which are based on true Canadianisms. The dictionary also gives information on Canadian pronunciation. It also gives information on Canadian Spellings. The Canadian Oxford Dictionary is used by major publishing houses and newspapers in Canada.
