You could put a cat or dog in the house with a hermit crab, as long as it's in a tiny cage of somewhat. My family has a dog, cat, and bird all in one house with our two hermit crabs. It doesn't harm anything as long as you keep an eye on that hermit crab, and make sure it's put up away from the other animals. It's not that hard to tend to them either. So.. Fun..? (:
