The one thing I can tell you is that do not open a savings account. The return on these are normally less than 2% so you aren't getting your moneys woth for it. Honestly I got a whole life insurance policy, you get a better return than a savings and you can borrow against it if need be. That is just one way I have done it. Ohh yeah you can also cash the policy out without losing any money you have put in to it. You get your full return. One more way is to get an IRA. Also another good return. But you have to willing to be in both for a long time.

Well, personally I have found that not going out every weekend for a drink or five saves money. I try and limit it now to every other weekend. Another handy thing to do is before you buy something, think "Do I actually need this? Or is it a luxury". Works sometimes. Easiest way to save money is to budget your current spending.

I don't save money because every time when i try to save money I lose more by unexpected incidents, e.g. losing my purse, debit card misused by some one else,. It seems god don't want me to save. Maybe just my excuse to use!

I think every country has its own policies about saving money and back accounts, in some countries banks gives more benefits on saving accounts in other countries they give more benefits on other types of accounts, so one may concerns first bank policies, but generally saving account is more perfferible in many bank in order to save money for the future.

It helps to 1) have a goal you are saving toward (so you can ask yourself, for example, Do I want a drink or a house? These shoes or a car? This jacket or college tuition? etc.), 2) set a budget (keep track of your spending over a month and analyze how you can systematize it), 3) find free or low-cost substitutes (library instead of book-buying, etc.) so you don't feel deprived, 4) surround yourself with friends who are like-minded, 5) pay in cash when possible (it's funny, but we are all more resistant to letting go of cash than signing a credit slip). The rule of thumb is "pay yourself first"--put the savings aside before paying your bills and enjoying yourself that month. The suggestion to improve your income is a very good one. There are lots of free tips online regarding the topics of saving and budgeting.
