Answer Question

Centring is a term commonly associated with American football and Canadian football. It is defined as the action of putting the ball in play. This is done by passing the ball to a back between his legs. Centring is a technique of advancing the ball. The ball is always put into play by a snap. The snap is the place where every American football and Canadian football team starts play from scrimmage.

The offensive players line up at the line of scrimmage where they will come face-to-face with the defensive players. The line of scrimmage is the position on the field of play where the play begins.

One offensive player, whose position on the field of play is that of the centre, then passes the ball between his legs to one of his team-mates, whose position on the field of play is that of the quarterback. This pass is colloquially known in American football terminology as the snap.
