Why I Have Periods From The Age Of Twelve?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Girls are developing, or coming into puberty, at a much earlier age than before.  Some people say that it is because of the hormones used in most of the food we eat and milk we drink and they may be right.  At any rate, young girls are dealing with periods, developing breasts, pubic hair, and the hormone fluctuations in their own bodies that cause mood changes and sexual impulses.  It is a lot to deal with at the age of 12.  However, my best friend had her period in the 5th grade and she was able to work-out signals to the teacher that would allow her to go to the restroom as discreetly as possible when she needed to.  Talk to your teacher, if you have a good relationship with her -- she may have some understanding of your situation.  Good luck!
