Answer Question

Landing is known as the last part of a flight. When an aircraft or a flying animal returns to the ground after a flight, it is known as landing. This process is called as alighting, but in common terms it is known as 'Landing'. In aircrafts landing is with the help of wings including the rotary wings. It can also be done with the help of parachutes or vertically directed jet engines. In case of an air balloon the landing is controlled by decreasing the buoyancy in the balloon, this is done to achieve a soft landing.

During the landing of an aircraft the ground effect is very significant, for an aircraft to achieve a perfect landing, considering there is no crosswind the contact with the ground is made only after the forward speed of the plane has been reduced.
