HRT is often recommended after a hysterectomy, however there are some concerns. This leaflet gives the best overview I have found so far, and also if you go to the end you will find links to other useful websites, such as the Menopause Society, where you can get more detailed answers.

The symptoms following a complete hysterectomy is a dramatic abrupt entry into menopause if they remove the ovaries without HRT. Have a personal preference for non-oral HRT as it does not seem to have the blood clotting side effects of oral
