Does Weight Lifting Hinder Weight Loss ?

I am a 45 year-old male trying to lose weight and get in better shape. Spend a lot of time on the treadmill to burn calories to aid in the weight loss. I dont use the weights much right now as I feel that "bulking up" will slow down the actual weight loss. Is this thought process correct ? I still have at least 30 to 35 pounds I still need to lose.

Yes weight lifting can hinder weight loss. Weight lifting will build your muscle. Your body will desire for food and drinks.

You should prefer weight loss exercises like running, jumping, push ups. Do only such exercises in weight lifting which can reduce your weight.

Yes, lifting weights will cause you to gain weight. As a matter of fact, it caused me to eat when I didn't want to. I was so upset. I looked for another way to exercise. Walking is an excellent way to lose weight. I cable tv with complimentary "On Demand" . I go to exercise tv and I do in home walking. For me it was a struggle, I am/was morbid obese (weighing more than 100 lbs of my correct weight. I did weightlifting a long time before I realized it was making me gain weight. Its good to be toned. Find other ways to exercise. When you eat, take small bites and chew each bite about 15 to 20 times before you swallow. Pay attention to your appetite, when you feel you are no longer hungry, stop eating. Another good idea is, you need to eat small portions every 3 to 4 hours per day . Water is a must. Discover foods that satisfies your appetite. Avoid sugar as much as possible. Not too much caffeine. Stay motivated whether its music that make you want to dance (another way to exercise), or going online to find a website that offer motivation. Watch the diet pills, be extremely careful. You want to lose weight but not kill yourself. What I'm saying is, find foods that works for you and your body, especially for your appetite. Pay attention to what you eat and avoid food that makes you crave for them.
