What Was The Stance Of Pakistan Premier Shaukat Aziz About The Pakistan-Afghanistan Crisis?

    Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz clearly repudiated the idea of empowering the intervention of a third party as a mediator in between Pakistan and Afghanistan and lead to resolving the Pak-Afghan conflicts.  He expressed these thoughts in a joint press conference with the president of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai.  

    The Pakistan Premier further stated that both of the countries, besides being neighbors are also sovereign powers and posssessed the capability of solving problems between themselves with the aegis of mutual dialogue.  In order to support his stance, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz listed out the attributes that the two countries shared in common, some of which were inclusive of the threat to security that both of the neighbors are facing, the similar geographical location of the two countries, the stance of Pakistan and Afghanistan against extremism and terrorism and the fact that Pakistan and Afghanistan share a similar border.
