What Is So Unique About A Manx Cat?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The most unique thing about a manx cat is, it does not have a tail, something that is not a conventional factor for cats.  It is only found upon the Isle of Man, a lozenge-shaped island, which is roughly about the same distance from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales and is located in the Irish Sea.

On the very island, a manx cat is a household pet as are the regular cats in other parts of the world.  It could be conveniently recognized by its tail-less appearance, the accentuated hollow at the very end of its backbone, which is very thick and double-coated.

Another unique factor about the manx cat is the fact that its forelegs are shorter than the hind legs and hence its movement is characterized by a atypical, hopping motion.  A manx cat ranges in colours of every kind with short fur.  The only other tail-less breed of cats is found in Japan.
