My Dog Has Small Raised Bumps All Over His Body. They Come And Go. What Are They?

He usually gets it on his head and front and back legs and on the area where his rip cage is. There is no bite marks nor pus in them. It just looks like raised small bumps that makes his fur look rippled. It comes and goes. But usually it stays for two-three days.

The next time these bumps appear on your dog have them examined by your veterinarian.  This is the best way of knowing or finding out exactly what is going on.  They may be hives or whorls brought on by allergies.  They could be ectoparasites like mites or ringworm.  Allergies are a possibility as well.  You can try Benadryl at a dose of 1 milligram per pound of body weight given 3 times a day.  Do not use the Cold and Sinus variety--only plain Benadryl is safe.

They may be cysts or warts?? These can be from clogged oil glands, so you might want to bathe your dog weekly.

But wait I did some research and your dog may have distemper!

Yet it could be acne. Which is an infection of the hair follicles or glands!

I think it is more then likely to be warts, because they usually appear on the head
