What Is Stored Memory Architecture?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The exact name that is used for the concept that you have described in you question is 'von Neumann architecture' and it describes a computer design model that has the ability to use a single storage structure with which it can hold both the instructions and the data. This kind of computer implements a Universal Turing Machine and also the 'referential model' that specifies the sequential architectures in contrast to that of the parallel architectures.

The abovementioned term sounds two technical for some people and they avoid using it and call it only with the computer in which in is stored; they call it 'stored program computer'. As people have made the name quite easier to speak to, the design itself has made the machine in which it is used quite flexible as it can easily change the program even under the control.
