Do Drums On A 2001 Hyundai Elantra Have To Be Turned?

I have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra. I was told that I had to have the rear drums turned and not replaced at this time. Also the front brakes the same way. Is this correct? Or are they trying to haggle me?

Yes you do have to turn drums;Drums like all brakes heat is what makes all (rotor and drums) work up to a specific point in there design  and application (street or race. Rotors dissipate heat much more quickly, and efficiently while drums collect and maintain heat more. this heat causes the drums to warp and get out of round. Take drums down to a parts store (napa shucks etc) and the will check the run out and damage. I hope this helps.
