Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca was a Spanish explorer. He is known for his Protoanthropological writings. He also served as the Governor of Rio de la Plata or Paraguay in 1540.  His exact date of birth is not known However, historians all over the world believe that he was born in the year 1490 and died in the year 1557. This makes him 67 years old at the time of his death.
