The best way to travel through the Rockies is to take a Rocky Mountaineer train.

There are a variety of different routes to follow. These include the Kicking Horse Route, Yellowhead Route and the Fraser Discovery Route.

The Kicking Horse route starts in Vancouver, Western Canada and terminates in either Banff or Calgary. The journey takes two days, including an overnight stay in Kamloops and takes in sights such as Fraser Canyon, Stoney Creek Bridge and Hell's Gate.

The Yellowhead route starts in Vancouver and finishes in Jasper. This journey is also two days with an overnight stay in Kamloops. Highlights include the Fraser River, Pyramid Falls and Jasper National Park.

The Fraser Discovery Route departs from Whistler and terminates in Jasper. The journey takes two days including an overnight stay in Quesnel, and takes in the breathtaking sights of Anderson and Seton Lakes, the Rocky Mountain Trench and Jasper National Park.

There are two types of service available on board the trains. Opt for the Red-leaf or the Gold-leaf service depending on your comfort requirements.
