The very first television picture was transmitted by John Longie Baird in Scotland in 1926 from one room to another. In 1927 he successfully sent a moving image along telephone wires from London to Glasgow, and the following year he achieved the first trans-Atlantic television broadcast.

First television news broadcast was on the May 10th 1928 when Kolin Hager read news and weather reports in front of a microphone what was, in effect, a video camera, at WGY in Schenectady, New York. It was the first regularly scheduled television broadcast, and the pictures and sounds were perfectly synchronized. He broadcasted farm and weather reports three times weekly on W2XB.
