      Muhammad ibn Abdullah was orphaned at an early age, but his father Abdullah was a pagan, as were most Arabs at the time. The interesting thing about Muhammad was that he was exposed to a considerable amount of evangelising Christianity, but he found it flawed, and sought an alternate route to monotheistic religion. Same God, different approach.
