Is A Railroad Track A Line Segment?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A line segment might be used to model a straight section (or part of a curved section) of railroad track for some purposes.

A railroad track is a solid three-dimensional construction involving a roadbed (gravel), ties, rails, spikes, and more. A line segment is a geometric idea consisting of an infinite number of points of zero size. A railroad track is not a line segment.
