What Is The Name For The Football Team In Florida?

There are several different American football teams currently residing in Florida. The most well known and successful are the Miami Dolphins, who play in the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference, as part of the National Football League (NFL). They have won two Super Bowls, five Conference Championships, and twelve Division Championships. They currently play in the Dolphin Stadium. Some of their most famous players and coaches have included Dan Marino, Jim Langer and Don Shula. Other major teams include the Miami Hurricanes college football side, who have been the most successful side in their class in the past 25 years, as well as the University of Florida's Gators, and the University of Central Florida's Golden Knights. In soccer terms, Miami Fusion were the most well-known side in the state until folding in 2002, and played in the US Major League from 1998-2001. Their counterparts, Tampa Bay Mutiny also folded in 2002 following the reduction of the Major League.
