Do You Honestly Think You Will Ever Have Any Control Over The Achievement Of World Peace?

If someone were to tell me that he/she could single-handedly end wars and bring about peace and reconciliation around the world, I would not be very likely to believe him. That having been said, I do think that people can effect positive change and conflict resolution within their own immediate communities and neighbourhoods. Furthermore, change on a grander scale does often start at the local, grassroots level.

There are any number of ways to rally support for the cause of peace and these methods usually do not cost much money at all. For those inclined to write down their thoughts, it is a very useful idea to send a letter to the editor of a local, or even national paper when they print articles on war and conflict. Unfortunately, chances are you will find plenty of opportunities to write such letters.

The internet makes the dissemination of your ideas even easier. Anyone can start writing a blog, post video messages to sites such as YouTube or discuss important topics in forums.

If you are inclined to rally for peace through more "active" means, join, or organize a peace march or demonstration in your home town. There are many options available to raise awareness for the cause of world peace. You will not be able to change the world yourself, but you can get community, national and world leaders to listen to your ideas, and you can convince others to share your views.
