    Newton is a suburban town that is situated in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.  It lies to the southwest of Boston. It comprises of nearly 13 "villages", and also some downtown areas. The 13 villages are: Auburndale, Chestnut Hill, Newton Centre, Newton Corner, Newton Highlands, Newton Lower Falls, Newton Upper Falls (both on the Charles River, and both once small industrial sites), Newtonville, Nonantum (also called Silver Lake), Oak Hill, Thompsonville, Waban, and West Newton.The population here is approximately 83,829.

    Newton also refers to Sir Isaac Newton, the English mathematician and scientist who shaped in discrepancy calculus and formulated the hypothesis of worldwide gravitation, a hypothesis in relation to the nature of light, and three laws of action.
