    How Do You Find The Area For Irregular Shapes?

    My teacher gave us a test that she never taught us on and I do not understand it.Some of the sides on the geometrical figure do not have a stated measurement.

    Divide the irregular shape into little shapes and then find the area (height x Breath) of these little shapes. When you get the area of these smaller shapes then add the areas of all these shapes in order to get the total.

    I don't fully understand what you are saying. You said to divide it into little shapes how do you do that?
