How Was Life During World War Two?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Life was difficult during the war. World War 2 began in 1939, the black outs begun two days before the war. Under the blackout rule, all citizens had to cover their windows with black paper, the street lights were shut so that the German bombers cannot find their target. Women joined the land army and helped in making war material and grow food. Healthy young men were sent to the army and many lost their life fighting at the war fronts. The kids were evacuated and were sent off to a strange place. Many of them never saw their parents again, others died due to starvation and trauma. Some kids were taken to farms to work. Raids used to take place often and people were sent underground in order to protect them. After the raid, a siren sound was the sign that people can now get out.
