              W.E.B. Griffin is one of the most popular in the world. New York and Philadelphia are the two places where Griffin grew up. He always wanted to join army and finally he did it in the year 1946. His military occupation specially was counter intelligence. In Germany he served in the Constabulary. He received the Army of Occupation Medal for his performance. After finishing his military service he joined Philipps-Universitat Marburg. While he was studying he was called to serve in Korea. In Korea, he was working as the Public Information Officer for the US X Corps. He also received the Combat Infantry Badge.   

              Many of the books he has written are mostly committed to the fallen comrades who could not survive and eventually died in Korea or in the Vietnam. He also worked for the international peacekeeping force during the time of Lebanese Civil War. His work in army is as great as the invaluable contribution he has given in the field of writing.
