Where Is Clondalkin In Ireland?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Clondalkin is located in South County Dublin; about 10km to the west of Dublin City in Ireland. In Irish the name means Dolcan's meadow and is a town/suburb and is most famous for the historical 8th century tower that is the central location in this place. The tower was actually a part of the monastery that was built in 600AD by a Saint Crónán.

Today, it a fully functional modern satellite town and has a population of about 43,929. It has many public facilities including three Irish speaking schools as well as a few clubs. Despite the fact that Ireland's economy has progressed over the years, Clondalkin remains in poor state with unemployment and crime still doing the rounds. However it is believed that within a few years, the place will be in a better position and will house largely the middle class citizens.
